MIA DENG - HEAD COUNSELOR
Mia is a clinical research coordinator for clinical trials, a graphic design contractor for NIH, and a business owner for her own online art shop. She's forgotten the meaning of free time, but no matter how busy she is, she will always make time for WMACS!
Even though she was only a camper for one year, Mia is now entering her eighth year as a counselor. That's how big an impact camp has had on her life- all of the friends she made and experiences she had as a result of WMACS are priceless to her. She keeps coming back because she wants to make sure campers have just as much fun as she did, and wants to help campers foster those life long friendships. She can't wait for the best week of the year to start and see all her camp friends again!

GEORGE WU
George graduated from UMD in 2020 and had been working in tech consulting before entering the data science field in 2022. He spends his free time gaming, gymming, cooking, playing with his 2 cats, and bedrotting. Apart from that, he still aspires to some day complete the 20,000 calorie challenge.
He’s always happy to share pictures of his cats Appa and Socks, so make sure to ask him about them!

ZACHARY DOU
Zachary graduated from UMD in 2023, and has been working as a software developer ever since. Otherwise, you can find him outside playing volleyball, or in his room playing various games. Some of his favorites include League of Legends, Hades, BTD6, and many more. His most recent obsession has been doing the New York Times games and puzzles, as well as binge watching Korean dramas, and collecting Pokemon cards. Zach is super excited to meet everyone, and will look forward to seeing everyone at camp!

OLIVER MOU
Oliver is currently studying at Virginia Polytechnic University (Virginia Tech) and will graduate this spring with a B. S. in Psychology. Outside of school he likes to play video games, lift weights, go on long walks, play basketball, and cook good food. He also enjoys being a counselor at WMACS, and is always excited to make camp a great time for everyone.
One of his favorite memories from camp was when he came up with the name, “The Weather Channel”, for his team’s name and then helped create the team chant. That year, they won best chant, and every year since he’s been especially committed to make sure that his team is always full of energy. As a counselor, he kept this mindset and is always trying to make sure that everyone can have fun together and participate in every activity. He’s excited to come back and make this year of WMACS the best year for campers yet!

ETHAN YEN
Ethan is a rising senior at the University of Maryland, studying computer science with a concentration in machine learning. Since he’s working in the realm of artificial intelligence, feel free to ask anything about AI like if humans will get taken over! Outside of school, he enjoys playing various sports, but unfortunately he gets injured pretty often. When healthy, he likes to run, play soccer, play pickleball, and climb a little as well! Ethan also indulges in some calmer hobbies, including playing cello, reading/ watching manga/anime, spinning up a chinese yoyo, and recording/ editing videos for his Youtube channel.
Ever since his first year as a camper, camp has always been a special place for Ethan. Countless memories have been made including the small laughs and conversations to the classic yet entertaining activities and games. From time to time throughout the year, he would reminisce about camp and think about all the fun for the exciting week of camp. After really getting to know the campers in his past 2 years as counselor, Ethan is excited to come back to bring new and fun ideas for everyone to enjoy!

DANIEL LEE
Daniel is studying Civil Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park and plans to graduate in Spring 2028. He likes rock climbing, video games, football, reading, and WMACS!!
Last year was Daniel's first year as a counselor, and he loved it so much he knew he needed to do it again. During his time as a camper, Daniel made a lot of lasting memories and friends which he loves to talk about, so feel free to come up and ask him. He can't wait for the best week ever!

JESSIE LIN
Jessie is currently a rising Junior at Brown University, where she’s studying immunobiology on the premedicine track! In her free time, Jessie enjoys eating, hiking, weightlifting, rockclimbing, and hanging out with her friends and family. Her favorite pastime, though, is definitely playing pickleball. Other things that bring her joy include nature, sudoku, tuxedo cats, strawberry matcha, coffee oreo ice cream, navy blue, the game Hay Day, and Thursdays.
And her favorite time of the year? The week WMACS falls on, no debate! Jessie loves meeting and getting to know new people, so don’t be shy, come say hi! Her favorite camp memory was brainstorming ideas for the P6 talent show with her fellow podmates – some of which included human table, human pyramid, singing the national anthem, playing Geometry Dash, and honestly any other absurd idea you can name. The P6s couldn’t stop laughing as new ideas were chimed in until their stomachs ached! Jessie can’t wait to make more memories this year with the campers. See you all at camp!

WILL SWEARINGEN
Will is currently a freshman at the University of Maryland studying Applied Mathematics and Business. He loves getting involved on campus through the Taiwanese-American Student Association, playing for the Club Ultimate Frisbee team, and helping tutor math students. In addition, Will loves playing sports like golf and tennis, and enjoys taking photos and going thrifting.
Will has been a camper for 6 years, so he understands how important WMACS is to the campers. He is excited to be a first-time counselor and can't wait to help make WMACS the most fun it's ever been!!

JASMINE SHENG - MEDIA
Jasmine graduated from Virginia Tech with degrees in marketing and journalism. In her free time, she loves trying out new recipes in the kitchen and hunting for the best matcha cafes. She's also a big fan of oolong boba, BTS, sour candy, concerts, and reading!
Having made countless unforgettable memories as both a camper and counselor, Jasmine is beyond excited to help capture special moments that everyone can look back on and enjoy!

EMILY CHENG - HEAD COUNSELOR
Emily (she/they) works as an academic coach at George Mason University. When they’re not working with students, you can find her at a dance class or the gym, building legos, making flower bouquets, or adding to her penguin plushie collection. Emily is a foodie through and through and is always ready to pull up pictures of yummy foods they’ve had recently. She also loves going to concerts, and she’s SOOO excited to see BTS in August◝(ᵔᗜᵔ)◜
As someone who basically grew up at camp, Emily’s favorite time of the year is definitely the last week of July! They met some of their closest friends at camp and looked up to the counselors that always made her feel welcomed. As a counselor, she finds joy in seeing campers laugh and connect with each other, creating memories that last far beyond the week of camp. She’s passionate about cultivating community spaces for Asian Americans, which is probably why they can’t stop coming back to camp--she is celebrating her 15th year of camp :’) Emily loves silly jokes and would love to hear your best one. They can’t wait for another memorable week with new and returning faces!

JENNIFER SHENG
Jennifer graduated from the University of Virginia in 2023 with a B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science and a minor in Psychology. Since graduating, she has been working in the area as a software developer. When not click-clacking away like a code monkey during her 9 to 5, Jennifer enjoys dancing, upcycling clothes, junk journaling, crocheting, and the periodic crossword puzzle. She also loves scrolling on TikTok and exploring new TV shows, movies, and music so send any TikToks or other recommendations her way :D
WMACS has been a part of Jennifer’s life for as long as she can remember and it’s without a doubt her favorite part of the year. During her time as both a camper and a counselor, she has always loved coming back each year to reconnect with old friends and to meet new friendly faces. From running around doing activities to sitting around yapping with everyone while eating XiaoYe, some of Jennifer’s fondest memories are during her years at camp. Jennifer is thrilled to return as a counselor and can’t wait to jump back into all the fun and excitement again this summer!

CALVIN TAMULONIS
Calvin likes: listening to music, Kpop, improvisation dancing, yoga, biking, raspberries, ARCANE, Attack on Titan, Pachirisu, his emotional support Meowchis (all 9 of them and they continue to grow in numbers :0), winning the 50/50 (iykyk), spicy food (the spicier the better), helping people, and of course WMACS.
Calvin has recently graduated Salisbury University with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Health Education and Dance. During his free time away from teaching, he likes to dance, play games, go on walks, listen to music, and hang out with friends.
Calvin really enjoyed and valued his time with WMACS as both a camper and counselor, and is grateful to continue being part of the community. He holds many fond and happy memories with WMACS, including teaching hip hop and managing night market prices, and is excited to make more memories this next year at camp. He is really looking forward to seeing familiar faces as well as meeting new ones.

ALEX WANG
Alex is a junior at the University of Maryland, College Park, studying Information Science. He enjoys watching anime, weightlifting, playing video games, DJing, and listening to music. His favorite foods at the moment are pho and hot pot (tomato soup base!).
Campers may know Alex as "Top 2 Chorus Teachers", but one of Alex’s favorite memories of WMACS was hosting the 2025 Dance. From decorating the room to “DJing”, the whole event was a special memory for him, seeing all the campers dance and interact with each other. His love for WMACS and its community brings him back every year. He hopes to see you all at camp this year!!!

IRIS WU
Iris is currently an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, studying Cell Biology and Genetics. In her free time, Iris enjoys staying active through going to the gym, soccer, badminton, snowboarding, and bouldering. Some of her favorite things are playing and listening to music, playing games, napping, cats, collecting cute trinkets, and building legos.
As a camper, Iris has made many fun memories and amazing friends. She is excited to spend another year as a counselor, ready to make more fun experiences and memories for all the campers, new and returning. She can’t wait to return to camp and meet everyone during the best week of the year!

REED SWEARINGEN
Reed just finished his second year studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois. He likes bouldering, movies, and building fast cars. When he’s not being a counselor this summer, Reed can be found in LA designing rockets! He also likes talking to people about school, college, engineering, life, etc so feel free to find him if you need someone to talk to!
Reed’s favorite parts of WMACS are the people and the traditions. This year, he’s looking forward to reconnecting with old campers, meeting new campers, and spending time with his fellow counselors. WMACS has always been the highlight of his year and he’s excited to be back for his second year as a counselor!

CARLI TAMULONIS
Carli enjoys anime, cosplay, art, video games, and music. She is currently studying Theatre Design and Production at University of Maryland Baltimore County. During her free time, she practices Wu Shu, paints, draws, watches anime, and plays volleyball. Carli also enjoys talking with other people, and she is excited to meet the campers.
Being a camper for 9 years, Carli keeps coming back since WMACS is super fun! One of her favorite memories as a camper is when campers pie a counselor in the face with shaving cream. In the end, it turns into a shaving cream battle where so many people get shaving cream on them. Camp is all about connecting with others of similar culture and having an awesome time!

EVELYN WAN
Evelyn attends THE Ohio State University and is currently studying Criminology on the pre-medical track. Evelyn likes: kpop (mostly girl groups like Twice & H2H), buying blindboxes (Smiskis/Nyota are her favorite), playing games on her phone, and going to concerts. Evelyn dislikes: exams, and trying to buy concert tickets.
Evelyn’s favorite camp memories include solving the TAAAR crossword puzzle, playing 24 dian, and eating yummy snacks at xiao ye. WMACS has been a source of so many fun summer memories for her and she can’t wait to make more. Although Evelyn was only a camper for a short period of time, she loved her time as a camper and can't wait to bring the energy this year as a counselor! See you all this summer!
