Mia works in a testing lab, as a graphic design contractor for NIH, and also runs her own small business. She's forgotten the meaning of free time, but no matter how busy she is, she will always make time for WMACS!
Even though she was only a camper for one year, Mia has been a counselor for seven years. That's how big an impact camp has had on her life- all of the friends she made and experiences she had as a result of WMACS are priceless to her. She keeps coming back because she wants to make sure campers have just as much fun as she did, and wants to help campers foster those life long friendships. She can't wait for the best week of the year to start and see all her camp friends again!

Justin Dislikes: bu guai campers
From being a long time camper to a counselor, Justin is always excited for camp every year- so much so that he has come out of retirement after missing camp in 2024. Justin is excited to sync backup with campers from previous years, and looking forward to meeting all the new campers in 2025!

Emily (she/they) works as an Academic Coach at George Mason University. When they’re not working with students, you can find her at a dance class or the gym, building legos, tearing up over doggos, or going on yet another walk. They love going to concerts and keeping up with their favorite groups, BTS, and Seventeen. ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡ (bangtan reunion soon!!)
As someone who basically grew up at camp, Emily’s favorite time of the year is definitely the last week of July! They met some of their closest friends at camp and looked up to the counselors that always made her feel welcomed. She’s passionate about supporting community spaces for Asian Americans, which is probably why they can’t stop coming back to camp. Emily loves silly, lame jokes and would love to hear your best one. She can’t wait for another memorable week with new and returning faces >ᴗ<

Jennifer is a recent graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics and Computer Science with a Psychology minor. Currently, she is working in the area as a software developer for Freddie Mac. She also loves endlessly scrolling on TikTok and exploring new TV shows, movies, and music so send any TikToks or other recommendations her way :D
WMACS has been a part of Jennifer’s life for as long as she can remember. During her time as both a camper and counselor, she has loved coming back each year to reconnect with old friends and to meet new friendly faces. From running around doing team activities to sitting around eating XiaoYe with everyone, some of Jennifer’s fondest memories are during her years at camp. As a long-time camper of WMACS, he’s gone from a fresh-faced and shy first year to an
experienced, confident, group leader. As a returning counselor coming back for his second year, Oliver is excited and more than prepared to make this the best year of camp so far. The most important part of WMACS for him is ensuring that incoming campers can have the same experience creating memories and having fun, and he can’t wait to work with WMACS once again.

Jessie is currently a rising sophomore at Brown University, where she’s navigating the world of Biology and hoping to minor in Environmental Science– because the more, the merrier! In her free time, Jessie enjoys eating, hiking, weightlifting, and hanging out with her friends and family. Her favorite pastime, though, is definitely playing pickleball. Other things that bring her joy include nature, plants, tuxedo cats, strawberry matcha, coffee oreo ice cream, navy blue, the game Hay Day, and Thursdays.
And the time she finds most joyful? The week WMACS falls on, no debate! Jessie loves meeting and getting to know new people, so don’t be shy, come say hi! Her favorite camp memory was brainstorming ideas for the P6 talent show with her fellow podmates– some of which included human table, human pyramid, singing the national anthem, playing Geometry Dash, and honestly any other absurd idea you can name. The P6s couldn't stop laughing as idea after idea was tossed in, until their stomachs ached! Jessie can’t wait to make more memories this year. See you all at camp!

Shelley is currently going into her last year of community college, where she is majoring in Health Sciences and completing her VCU prerequisites. After she finishes her associate’s, she plans to apply for VCU’s dental hygiene program. With scholarly marks she will (hopefully) get in. In her free time, she likes to listen to music, play mobile games, eat, read books, and consume asian media. She also likes to collect little thingamajigs like stickers, stationary pens, jewelry, and containers.
WMACS has been a positive and unforgettable experience for Shelley. Before WMACS, Shelley was a often closed off, quiet, and found it hard to warm up due to her past experiences. However, as time went on she was able to slowly open up, step out of her comfort zone, and did things she would have never been able to in the past. As a camper, she’s met many great peers and has made friends she can still talk to after camp. Shelley can’t wait to make even more memories to cherish in the future!
